Date: 21st Mar 2025.

Sump: Peak Resurgence, Peak Cavern.

Divers: Fabian Ehlers (TD), Jim Lister (QD)

Equipment: 5mm wetsuit + 2mm shorty, sevens, 5 kg lead, four piece maypole, rope, bolting equipment.

Aim: To transport a four piece maypole through the sump and climb the school room aven. To climb the aven using the ladder and belay rope before identifying a suitable location to place anchors. Survey from the furthest extent back to the dive line bolt. Dive all equipment back out of the sump.

Report: I dived the resurgence first into the school room aven carrying a mixed bag containing the electron ladder, rope and bolting equipment. This bag also contained Jim's surveying equipment in a waterproof peli case which made this a pleasure to carry. I returned out of the resurgence and carried two pieces of the maypole through the sump shortly followed by Jim with the remaining two pieces.

Once this was assembled, I climbed the ladder to the top with Jim belaying. Due to the maypole being about 2m short from the upper ledge and not providing a suitable safe stance to start bolting, the decision was made to return another time and bolt climb the aven instead. Jim climbed the ladder as well with myself belaying.

Overall, despite the aim not being met, this was a succsessful dive as the equipment was managed to be dived through the sump without complications. Awating a return trip to finish this project.

Gas used: To be determined.

Notes: 5mm wetsuit despite the shorty definately not enough protection against sitting stationary in the sump pool for prolonged times.
